God wants every one of us to experience a life that has meaning, direction, peace and love. These are the things every person needs in life. We are empty and are constantly searching for love, meaning, direction and peace. We were all born with this vacuum in our hearts. And as we know, every vacuum needs to be filled! The same with this empty space in our hearts it needs [desires] to be filled!!!
So what happens? We go on this wild goose chase with the hope to fill the empty space. We try sex, porn, drugs, music, movies, friends, religion, alcohol, and the list goes on and on But we are still empty. Why? Because that vacuum is in the shape of Jesus Christ. God makes this fulfilled life possible in Jesus. You and I need to accept Jesus in our lives, surrender to Him and ask His forgiveness. Here is how you can do that using the 5 steps from the book of Romans in the Bible
The Roman highway to Salvation:
1.Everyone of us is a sinner For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of Gods glorious standard. (Romans 3:23)
Xplain: Everyone, that includes you and me, have broken Gods Word and have sin in us. Sin is sin before God; therefore there are no little sins and big sins! The only standard of measurement is God He is holy and man isnt. This means there is a wall, no matter the size, between you and God.
2.Weve got the problem Hes got the answer But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8)
Xplain: He chose to love us and pay the full price for our sin. How? On the cross! When Jesus cried out it is finished! on the cross, he proclaimed to the whole world, heaven and hell that the price for our sins were now paid in full. This solves the wall problem between us and God only Jesus can remove it!
3.God has a gift for you For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Xplain: The payment that sin gives you is death. There are three types of death: a) Physical death; b) Spiritual death; c) Eternal death. The Gift of God is eternal life, or salvation! We dont deserve or earn it, but we must receive it! Salvation in Jesus is a gift no strings attached!!! You have a gift waiting for you, with your name on it. Claim it today! How? Read on
4.Confess! Confess! Confess! If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
Xplain: It sounds easy, doesnt it? Actually it is quite a mouthful! To confess is to agree with God that Jesus is the risen Saviour Who died for your sins and that there is no other way to heaven but through Him! To declare with your mouth and believe with your heart involves a genuine, life-transforming faith that He is YOUR Lord! It means you need to accept and follow Him (John1:12).
5.Call now! Everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
Xplain: Now that you know that your empty life needs Jesus fulfilment, it is up to you to simply call on the Name of the Lord Salvation is for everyone, not just a select few, but to anyone who calls on His Name! Salvation is definite you shall be saved not maybe but will be! Remember that.
Why dont you call Him now? I did, and He changed my life forever! From a drug addict to a person with peace, meaning, love and direction. He can and wants to do the same for you.
Here is a Call through prayer you can repeat:
Lord Jesus, I come to you just as I am. I realise that there is an emptiness in me that needs to be filled. I have tried many things to fill this emptiness, but its still there. I know that I am a sinner and that I cant save myself. I come to you with my life and ask You to forgive me my sins and to wash me from any evil in me. Come and fill the emptiness in me and give me the peace, love, joy and direction that I need. I surrender my whole life to You, Lord Jesus. I give You my heart.
I believe that from this very moment on Im a brand new person. I am born again, washed in Your blood, filled with Your love and in love with You. I say NO to the world and YES to You. I say NO to sex before marriage, I say NO TO drugs, alcohol and the devil, and I say YES to JESUS!!! In Jesus Name. Amen!
